MCB Moly-Coated OEM-Style Piston Kit -Dual Ring Cylinder exchange - $209.00 (Cylinders in stock and ready for same day shipping) MCB Performance's new direct replacement Dual-Ring Piston for all 2001-2007 Ski-Doo 800cc twin-cylinder motors has a dual-ring Alloy steel, ferrox coated chrome faced design that gives superior durability and prevents ring flake and piston failures that can be common with stock 800cc piston design. The new piston is a hypereutectic cast design with increased silicon content. It has increased hardness, is more resistant to wear, less prone to cold seizure and has an increased ability to withstand higher cylinder temperatures, pressure and detonation. The piston skirts are coated with MOS2 (teflon-molybdenum coating), which is composed of sub-micron sized particles of solid lubricant and resin blend solvents. The coating is applied through a roll impregnated process, not sprayed on, providing 10 times the bond strength. MCB says the advantage of the dual ring design is the ability to draw heat through the top portion of the dual ring piston walls and out the bottom, reducing heat and friction, and prolonging ring life. The coatings help eliminate cold seizure and increases durability. The piston dome top is HRB-105 hard anodized, making it 75% stronger than non-anodized pistons. MCB offers pistons of this same technology for all Brands of Arctic Cat, Polaris, Ski Doo, and Yamaha snowmobiles. Please call for more information. |

Tuning Notes: MCB's own '01 MXZ800 used the Dynoport Single Pipe, Cheater Heads & Shim with Porting, V-Force Reeds, and Carb Boring. This setup engine dyno'ed 154HP @ 7800-8000 rpm. Clutch engagement is 3000rpm, top-shift is 7900rpm. This sled averaged 15mpg prior to the carb boring; after the carb boring it was consistently 11-12 mpg. Sled had over 2000km without any failures. Combine all of the above options (must choose which head kit, and which clutching kit), and crank-HP potential will be in mid 150's. |

Studding Notes: MCB recommends the 'Power Point' with the 'Power Plate' for all applications over 90HP. These studs have better penetration than the 'SPT' or 'Excel' stud. MCB recommends the 'Power Plate' backer for any application over 1.08" in length regardless of HP.
